I am also a Gadget-Maker, (the Steadicam is a 20 year old homebuilt), and have a wide range of great, Movie-production Gizmos that are presently being added to the site under ‘Rocket Science’.. but please drop me a line if you want someone to chew over a technical hurdle with. Below is a sample of some of the rigs I’ve built and make variations on as special shots or situations call for them.

Jib Arm with remote head - (3 axis head under construction)

Self-lit Greenscreen panels

Cable-Cam, radio-controlled pan/tilt head that rides along a zip-line

Turntables and Model-mover platforms

Customized Foxi and Zoe handle/tripod arm for Sachtler - allows one-handed Focus, Iris, Zoom, Rec/Stop, with same hand that’s controlling Pan/tilt of camera.

STEADI-JIB - still being tested, but a mod. on the Steadicam allows HVX class cameras to jib from Floor to about 7’ in live steadicam shots. Great possibilities for new Steadicam concept shots!
