Where....

The much anticipated Premiere of GONE: The Mystery of the DON Disaster will be held at the Maine Maritime Museum in Bath on March 5th at 6:30 pm. The film explores the puzzling disappearance in 1941 of the pleasure craft DON with 34 people on board. No wreckage was ever found and only 14 bodies were recovered. The event remains one of New England’s worst boating disasters.

GONE is Directed by Dave Wilkinson and Produced by Marilyn Taylor, both of Harpswell, and both MFVA members!  It is based on the book, “Tragedy in Casco Bay” by Associate Producer Stacy L.Welner, also of Harpswell.

The 2nd Annual Image Gazer Film Festival (IGFF) will be held June 16 - June 19 Throughout DownEast, Maine.

IGFF is seeking film in the following categories: Features, Documentaries, Shorts, Abstracts and Student Projects.

The Lewiston Auburn Film Festival (LAFF) will take place on Saturday, April 2, 2011, in various locations throughout downtown Lewiston and Auburn, all within walking distance of each other.

The festival is still taking submissions, with the deadline extended to January 31, 2011

Central Productions is proud to announce its annual open call for submissions to the 10th Annual Boston Cinema Census (BCC) hosted by the Brattle Theatre. The BCC is a carefully curated annual showcase of the most interesting and innovative works produced by local emerging filmmakers, whether they are students, professionals, struggling artists, or film enthusiasts.

“Christmas Greetings From Aroostook”, a Crown of Maine Productions program, will be shown prime time again this year on December 23rd at 9:00PM and on Christmas Day at 4:00PM. From making tourtiere in The Valley to St. Lucia Buns in New Sweden, and from sleigh rides in Mapleton to the Heavenly Harpers of Houlton, this film shows the simple pleasures of a County Christmas.
