A message from our Web Committee Chair, Mark Ireland
Among the many benefits for MFVA members (and my personal favorite) are the regular meetings for our members. The meetings take place in towns from Camden to Portland, from Lewiston to Bangor and are structured in a variety of formats. Many are set up as forum-style meetings, with specific topics presented by a panel of experts. Sometimes we meet for film screenings with live music. All meetings include time to meet with colleagues over food and drinks.

It was evident that we were witnessing the work of both emerging and quite accomplished filmmakers; a super exercise in figuring out how to work fast, intuitively, and who you really want to team with. We also heard some great advice for those who intend to participate in the upcoming 48 Hour Film Projects.
