The Maine Jewish Film Festival (MJFF) comes of age in 2010 when it celebrates its 13th year!
We curate a program of films that explore the Jewish experience through the lens of film - screening features, documentaries and shorts. Since 1998, MJFF has been bringing American and international cinema and filmmakers to enthusiastic southern Maine audiences. MJFF has grown to be one of the best-attended, most well-respected, and highly-anticipated cultural events in the state. We attract a diverse, sophisticated, and deeply loyal audience base who loves independent film.
Maine’s Jewish population is just 1% of the state but our audience represents a diverse mix of Jewish and non-Jewish members. Last year, over 2,400 people from Portland and throughout the State attended our highly acclaimed Festival. This year we anticipate an even larger audience at our new home - the Nickelodeon Theater in downtown Portland!
