MAINE FILM STUDIO TO LAUNCH AUG. 14TH
Maine Film Co-op Begins Development

Let me start by saying that it is always encouraging to see the posts here. The high level of dedication to a film industry in Maine is without question!
Now, I had want to waited a couple more days to get this information out, but feel it is time to do so TODAY:
Last week Wasted Minds Media Group, Inc reached an agreement with Nappi Distributors to lease the 235 Presumpscot St location (Nappi’s former warehouse). We did so with the intent of creating a film studio. However, we do not want to keep the studio for ourselves. So we decided to make space available to any film related company that would be interested in joining us at The Maine Film Studio.
We have also begun development on the Maine Film Co-Op. This will include a Intern/Apprenticeship/Mentoring program, the Maine Film Fund and a barter network that will create more opportunities for Maine Filmmakers. We have drafted initial proposals and have spoken with the Maine Film Office, Taxation Committee, the Economic Development Office, Maine Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and a variety of other individuals who can help shape this project. It will not be easy and it will not happen tomorrow, but it will happen with the support of the film industry. We need the ideas and effort of everyone in the industry. WMMG does not want credit or control of the Maine Film Co-Op, we just want it to become a reality. I gave a great deal of thanks to Tom Dunham and Nappi Distributors for putting their faith in the film industry. Hopefully, their commitment to the Film Industry will serve as a catalyst for others to do the same!
