MFVA’s New Website!

Dear MFVA Members and Friends,

Welcome to our newly re-designed website!  I hope you will find it informative and helpful in keeping our community up-to-date about your business and work in the industry.  We are continuing to serve you with news and information from Maine and beyond including job listings, classifieds, auditions, film festivals, screenings, articles, new technology info, production company news, and a host of other subjects. But it will only be effective if you participate by submitting articles and keeping us posted about upcoming news and events about your company. Members can now post these notices themselves.  Check out the new Community section where you can participate in or even start new forums, post classifieds, jobs, sell or rent equipment, and post your bio and resume for all to see.

Let me also encourage all of you to renew your membership.  For the past year we have been in the process of re-organizing the MFVA, reinvigorating our committee system, planning and hosting meetings, lobbying the legislature for a strengthened tax incentives package for production in Maine and launching this site.  We have also reached out to our industry and have brought on board many new partners who are offering benefits to our members. Until now we have not asked members to renew and therefore most memberships have lapsed.  Now, to encourage larger numbers to join making membership more valuable, we have lowered dues to $25 for individuals and $10 for students.  We’re looking forward to welcoming you again to our MFVA community!

So check out the new site and let us know what you think.

All my best,

Richard Kane, Chair
Maine Film & Video Association
